Got this as a gift for my husband. he said the book is really good for anyone interested in africa, although he would caution that it does have some strong language in it, so it may not be appropriate for young children.
Great book - it shows the other
Great book - it shows the other, unexpected side of europeans in colonial africa - a far cry from out of africa.
What's wonderful about this book is the way it allows one to experience the complexities and intricacies of masai life in the 20's and 30's. their customs and traditions are just so utterly different from those of the west that its fascinating to consider how they developed and when. we are going to tanzania and i look forward to learning more about how the masai have evolved in modernity.
