She started a new restaurant that is getting a lot of good press. all of the money she sunk into ...

East hampton is a small town (despite what the press writes) and antonia bingham is just there to move on with her life. she bought the windmill inn and totally renovated from bolts to nuts. she started a new restaurant that is getting a lot of good press. all of the money she sunk into it is starting to pay off, although it is minute by minute. but after all her hard work she finds out that it might all be in vain. the previous innkeepers at the windmill inn were murdered, and she might be next. this is the first book of the hamptons murder mystery series. i love a good cozy mystery, and this one fits the bill. there are a lot of good characters and descriptions. i have never been to 'the hamptons' but now i feel as if i have. it's important to note, as does the author, that despite what we think or hear, the hamptons are really small towns with small town people. all of those celebrities come and go, but there are people there all year round trying to make a living. my favorite character was antonia, the innkeeper. she was relatable and i loved her taste in food! larry lipper was very annoying but it was fun to see how antonia went up against him. and nick darrow is one man i would like to meet. this is a great new series for the cozy world. it has a lot of new twists and a real sense of atmosphere. i am looking forward to book 2.

A great start to a new series

This was a fun new mystery series to start. i felt like it was a little different than the normal cozy mystery but i can't quite put my finger on it. maybe it was the setting and the cast of characters or the length as this is a bit longer than most cozies, which i enjoyed. i thought the author did a good job of developing the characters. especially the main character antonia and i love how she got close to joseph and looks up to him. another thing i enjoyed about this author was that she was very descriptive from the food to the locations and everything in between. i like that the author gave me so many different suspects and scenerios so i was kept guessing until the end. i am looking forward to the next book in this fun series.
