The first day i wore them it had just snowed about 1'. i knew it would be icy and slushy out. they kept my feet perfectly warm and i never slipped on ice or snow. i still walked slowly and carefully but didn't slip once. i also got a lot of compliments on them, which was unexpected. the only negative i can think of is that they do make your feet look bigger than they are. i think it's because they're so wide but, they're so deliciously warm that i don't care. i live in colorado and ski in the winter. they're great for walking even in extremely cold/snowy conditions at the ski resort where there's a guarantee of lots of snow on the ground. i wear an 8.5 in most shoes/boots and in these as well. they fit perfectly.
