Action and mystery!

Although i did not read the first book in this series, it was easy to get into the main characters and their interactions. nicholas drummond is about to start his first day in the new york fbi office, having recently transferred from the london police force. his female partner, mike, and he are quickly assigned a murder case and during the witness interviews, the murderer returns to the scene of the crime and when pointed out, leads a merry chase for nicholas. when he finally apprehends him, the suspect drops dead and an autopsy shows the cause to be self administered poison. this is not the only mystery in this case. while following up on evidence and the background of the victim, the two detectives become embroiled in multiple murders, an international terrorist plot, and knowledge of a secret society that has been operating for the good of the free world for centuries. if you liked the intrigue of angels and demons, you will love this story with its own historical references. non-stop action from start to finish. looking forward to reading more books in this brit in the fbi series. disclosure: i received an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
